Many events that choose to use BirdEase will have the option for volunteer sign up in addition to traditional registration. Fortunately, this can be done in the same place that registration items would be created, and in a few simple steps, you can create an item for volunteer registration, track any information needed, and pull it in a registrant report.

The first step is to get into the Registration Items section in your Event Manager. Create a new item for Volunteers, and change the price to $0.00. You can also add an image and description, much like you would in a traditional registration item. Make sure that this item is visible on the Registration Page so that volunteers can sign up with the same process. You can also add a Custom Question if you’d like the volunteer to specify anything about what they intend to do at the event, their shirt size, etc.

Once you receive your first volunteer, their information will show up in the full report and the Registrants section (just like any other registration). The custom question will also be included in the full report, which will help you keep track of volunteers and their preferences.
